Dr. G Suryanarayana Raju’s experience is 40 years on the whole. He is one of the senior most surgical oncologist in the country. He is a Senior Professor and Founder HOD of Surgical Oncology Department at Nizams Institute of Medical Sciences Hyderabad.

He did his MBBS from Andhra Medical College, Andhra University, Visakhapatnam in 1983 then completed his MS in General Surgery at KMC, Manipal, Mangalore University in 1988. He was Special Trainee in the Department of Surgical Gastroenterology under Professor N. Rangabashyam in Government General Hospital and Sri Ramana Surgical Clinic Madras between 1988 and 1990. Later finished his M.Ch from Cancer Institute at Adyar in 1992. He also did his fellowship FRCS and FUICC.

Founder Surgical Oncologist in NIMS Hyderabad 1992: 

Founder, Surgical Oncology Society of Andhra Pradesh Treated few lakhs of cancer patients-between 1998-2017. Since 1990, he treated about 1,75,000 cancer patients and 63,000 surgeries were performed. The following surgeries have been done first time in India: Intra-arterial chemotherapy and surgery for stomach.  Isolated limb perfusion for extremity melanoma/ sarcomas. Advanced Laparoscopic Surgeries for Cancer in early 1990s – Radical Nephrectomy, Abdomino perineal resection, pelvic tumors, stomach, esophagus, colon and small intestine.

Organized  several  academic meetings like CME, Surgical Workshops, Conferences and Assessment tests for post graduate students (SEAT).

Founder,  DNB Surgical Oncology course  in NIMS :

• Used print as well as electronic media about causes of cancer, early diagnosis and treatment.
