Dr. Kalyan Kumar Varma Kalidindi has an overall experience of 9 years and 6 years as a specialist. He is an extensively trained and academically excellent orthopaedic spine surgeon with international exposure to the latest advances in orthopaedic spine surgery. He has achieved state and national level ranks in various entrance examinations and got training in the best institutes of the country.

After securing 49th rank in the AP state medical entrance examination, he completed his MBBS from Gandhi Medical College, Secunderabad in 2012 with distinctions in various subjects. After that, he cleared the national level JIPMER entrance examination with 27th rank and completed his post-graduation in Orthopaedics in 2016. He got specially trained in orthopaedic trauma, orthopaedic oncology, arthroplasty and Ilizarov techniques at JIPMER. He then joined as a senior registrar at King George Hospital, Vizag. He became a fellow of the national Board (FNB) in Spine Surgery in 2017 after securing 6th rank in the national entrance examination. He was extensively trained in spine surgery at the Indian Spinal Injuries Centre, New Delhi under the mentorship of Dr. H S Chhabra. The institute is a tertiary referral centre for spine surgery of national and international repute and one of the top five AO Spine recognised centres in the Asia-Pacific region. In 2019, he was appointed as a fellow under Dr. Hyeun Sung Kim, Director of the Nanoori Suwon Hospital, a Stanford University Medical Centre in February 2019 where he was exposed to a vast variety of endoscopic spine surgical procedures. In 2019, he was also appointed as a fellow under Dr. Jorg Franke, Chief of Spine services in Klinikum Magdeburg, Germany where he was exposed to minimally invasive spine surgical techniques.

In 2019, he was appointed as a consultant and research associate at Indian Spinal Injuries Centre, New Delhi. Here, he performed and assisted a vast variety of complex surgical procedures including scoliotic and kyphotic deformity corrections as well as the latest advances in spine, the robotic spine surgeries. He was also the co-investigator of Dr. H S Chhabra in the research on Epidural Stimulation, the latest technology to improve the motor power in paraplegics. He also authored numerous international publications in prestigious journals such as European spine journal, Asian Spine Journal, International Journal of Spine Surgery, Spinal cord series and cases, Interdisciplinary Neurosurgery, Surgical Neurology International and World Neurosurgery.
